Louth Volunteer Centre is once again putting out the call for nominations for the Louth Volunteer Leader Awards. Behind every group of volunteers, is a great Volunteer Leader. This person might coordinate the group, ensure volunteers are supported and generally keep the show together. They rarely take the limelight, often toiling away behind the scenes and are not often recognised for their incredible work.
This year, Louth Volunteer Centre are running the awards in collaboration with the Louth Public Participation Network (Louth PPN). This is our county’s network of community, voluntary, social inclusion and environmental organisations, working together to enhance the quality of life of our citizens.
On winning last year’s Leading Youth Volunteers 2023 award for Louth, Jackie Walsh of Lourdes Youth Choir, shared their experience of winning "I'm speechless, I've done the choir for so many years, but it's just lovely to be recognised. I know the girls and the parents in the congregation all recognise what I do, but it is nice to be to be acknowledged in a different way and especially when Dad (organist Sean Walsh) was nominated as well”.
Every Leader nominated will receive a personal thank you card and certificate and be invited to a lunch event in the Imperial Hotel in Dundalk on the 5th of November, to coincide with the 2024 International Volunteer Managers Day.
