Meet our Volunteer Centre Team

Gráinne Berrill
Manager

Gráinne joined Louth Volunteer Centre in April 2016. Gráinne's work history includes designing, delivering and managing a County wide programme for young people with disabilities which had volunteering at its core; supporting people affected by homelessness to develop their employability skills, including through volunteering; working for a number of years in adult education; and considerable management experience in the private sector.

Gráinne is passionate about embedding volunteerism in the fabric of communities and wants to see County Louth being held up as a model of best practice in relation to the volunteering activity taking place. 

Karen Donlon

Karen joined the Louth Volunteer Centre in May 2008. Central to her work is the aim to provide a free, high quality volunteer placement service in a friendly and professional manner, where volunteering is the focus of her work. She aims to offer professional support and advice to organisations around their volunteering needs, so that they can achieve best practice principles in volunteer management. She also facilitates the National Volunteer Management Training Programme, to organisations working in County Louth.

Kayleigh Mulligan
Volunteer Liaison Officer / Garda Vetting Liaison Officer

Kayleigh joined the Louth Volunteer Centre in January 2013. Her role includes supporting organisations and volunteers in the North Louth area, assisting in identifying and filling volunteering roles within organisations and helping volunteers to find suitable, fulfilling volunteering opportunities. 

Kayleigh is available every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in Dundalk - by appointment or for a drop-in visit - to meet with any organisation or volunteer who feel they may need support or information. She is also available in Omeath on the last Tuesday of every month, from 10 am to 1 pm. 

 Kayleigh is also the centre's Garda Vetting Liaison Person. She provides access to Garda Vetting services for small organisations that cannot access  a Garda Vetting Liaison Person through their own organisational structures.

 Placement Support

 Joanne Russell
Drogheda Office - Tuesday and Friday, 9.30am to 5.00pm
Joanne joined the Volunteer Centre team in August 2017. She is a member of the Placement team, providing support to volunteers both in the office and over the phone. Joanne has volunteered for many years in a variety of roles working with people from all backgrounds. She is also a member of the volunteer centre's Fleadh team, managing the volunteer programme for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2018 & 2019.

Tracy Rooney

Drogheda Office, Monday from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm and Tuesday to Friday, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. 

Tracy is the team administrator, assisting the Louth Volunteer Centre manager and other team members in areas such as finance and general administration. Tracy also provides frontline placement support to volunteers in our Drogheda Office

Mary Thornton

 Mary is a member of the Drogheda Placement team, supporting volunteers in the South of the county to have a positive volunteering experience.

 

 

 

 

Gavin Winters

Graphic Designer

Gavin joined the team in 2015 as a graphic designer, working on projects such as leaflet design and designing graphics for our website.

 

 

 Bradley Hutchinson

Bradley joined Louth Volunteer Centre in January 2019. He is a member of the placement team in the Dundalk Office and is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm. His work includes aiding volunteers in the Dundalk and surrounding areas in searching for a volunteer role that best suits the volunteer and he also does administration.

Robin Barnes

Robin worked as a volunteer on the Social Media team during the 2018 Fleadh and decided it was something he would like to continue so he now helps to promote volunteering for LVC through social media and takes photographs for the centre.

Maeve Yore

Maeve is a member of Louth County Council. She has a background in volunteering in the disability sector.

MICHAEL WALSH

Michael John Walsh holds a BSc. in Psychology from DCU and a MPsychSc. in Psychological Science from UCD. Michael is passionate about the Irish not-for-profit sector, previously volunteering with SOSAD Ireland for 5 years. 

JONATHAN LYNCH

Jonathan has held a number of roles in the Irish Higher Education sector, managing student welfare and student engagement functions across a number of Dublin Universities before joining the Ambulance service in 2018. Jonathan holds a BBS. (Hons) in Business Management from the National University of Ireland, an MSc in International Management from DIT and a PG Diploma in Education from the National College of Ireland. Jonathan has extensive experience in the volunteer sector with particular emphasis on community festivals and first responder schemes representing both on a national scale. 

JULIE DEVITT

Julie is a CIMA qualified management accountant and has over 12 years’ experience in senior roles within the FMCG industry as well as 6 years previous experience in the Financial Services sector.
