On Saturday 31th October, Cox’s Demesne Community Volunteers organised an event aimed at bringing the community together and letting them know about the work that they had been doing over the past five months to promote volunteering and improve the area.

Over 30 volunteers helped to make the day a success performing tasks such as sending out leaflets, sourcing props, recruiting volunteers, face-painting, taking part in the haunted house as actors and tour guides. A fantastic time was had by volunteers and attendees alike.

 Lens A Hand 2015

Louth Volunteer Centre combine volunteering and art each year by organising an amateur photographic competition and exhibition, 'Lens a Hand', aimed at promoting and encouraging volunteering in Louth.

The theme for the competition is "capture the spirit of volunteering in Louth" and it is open to everyone who wishes to enter a photograph of themselves or a friend or colleague volunteering, showcasing the diversity of volunteering in action and illustrating its positive impact in the local community.

On Saturday 29th August, Cox’s Demesne Community Volunteers organised an event aimed at bringing the community together and letting them know about the work that they had been doing over the past three months to promote volunteering and improve the area. The El Paso Party was very well attended with over 150 children on the day with their families.

Prizes for volunteers were donated by CEX, Gamestop, Smyths, Opening Minds, Costcutter, L’Isle de France, Dundalk FC and Woodie’s DIY contributed toward the face-paints.

We would also like to say a huge thanks to the gang at Cox’s Demesne Community & Youth Project who baked buns and cakes for the event.

15 volunteers helped to make the day a success performing tasks such as sending out leaflets, sourcing prizes, recruiting volunteers, stewarding, face-painting, preparing and serving food and taking photographs.  They were Charlie O’Brien, Fergal Sheehy, Anthony Heeney, Ciarán McIntyre, Patrick Smith, Thomas McCormack, Tiernan Mulligan Rhonda Mackin, Sandra McCabe, Barbara McCabe, Ian Doyle, Kevin Doyle, Caithlain Meenan, Colette Fox and Sharon Fox. We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone else who came along on the day and lent a hand.
